Why Bloom Anyway?

Growth is possible, even in the hardest seasons.

There are seasons when anxiety, grief, burnout, self-doubt, relationship struggles, or simply feeling disconnected from yourself make life harder to navigate. Bloom Anyway was created for those moments.

We don't believe healing should be rushed, forced, or linear. You don't need to be fixed or become someone else to deserve support. You deserve to be met exactly as you are.

Bloom Anyway is a team of therapists who share this belief. Each therapist brings their own expertise, perspective, and way of working, while holding the same core values of compassion, understanding, and genuine human connection.

Because healing isn't about waiting for everything to be perfect. Sometimes, it's about learning how to bloom anyway.

Urja GokaniFounder, Bloom Anyway

Meet the founder

I come in with curiosity, about you and your story.

Welcome to Bloom Anyway. I'm Urja Gokani (she/her), a Counseling Psychologist and the founder of Bloom Anyway.

I believe therapy is about creating space to understand yourself more deeply and build a kinder relationship with the parts of you that may feel anxious, exhausted, overwhelmed, or simply lost.

I've worked across hospitals, rehabilitation centres, and crisis support spaces, supporting people through anxiety, grief, relationship struggles, emotional overwhelm, self-worth concerns, identity questions, and difficult seasons of life.

Some people come to therapy knowing exactly what they need help with. Others simply know that something doesn't feel right. Both are welcome here.

Bloom Anyway was built around the belief that therapy should feel human, compassionate, curious and non-judgmental. I've brought together a team of therapists who share this same philosophy, while bringing their own expertise and perspectives to the work.

You don't have to have everything figured out before you reach out. You can simply begin where you are.

What therapy can offer

You don't have to carry it all by yourself.

Life can feel heavy sometimes: stress, self-doubt, difficult emotions, relationship struggles, or experiences that are hard to make sense of on your own. Through the process, you may:

Feel more understood, supported, and less alone in what you're going through
Gain a deeper understanding of yourself, your emotions, and your patterns
Learn healthier ways to cope with stress, anxiety, and overwhelm
Build confidence, self-worth, and trust in yourself
Improve communication and create healthier, more fulfilling relationships
Process difficult experiences in a safe, non-judgmental environment
Develop stronger boundaries that protect your well-being
Feel more emotionally balanced and resilient during difficult times
Make decisions with greater clarity and confidence
Create lasting changes that align with the life you want to build

Frequently asked questions

How do I decide if I need therapy?

You don't need to be in crisis to benefit from therapy. If you're experiencing emotional distress, feeling stuck, struggling with relationships, navigating a difficult life situation, or simply finding it hard to cope the way you usually do, therapy can help.

It can also be valuable if you're curious about understanding yourself more deeply, exploring patterns from your childhood, processing past experiences, or creating meaningful change in your life.

Does seeking therapy mean I have a mental disorder?

No. Many people seek therapy not because they have a mental disorder, but because they are facing challenges that place significant demands on their emotional, mental, physical, or relationship resources.

Seeking help early does not mean something is wrong with you. It can be a proactive step toward maintaining your mental health and preventing difficulties from becoming more overwhelming over time.

Can my therapist solve my problem?

Therapy is a collaborative process. Rather than telling you what to do or solving problems for you, a therapist helps you explore your experiences, understand underlying patterns, and gain insight into the challenges you are facing.

The goal isn't for the therapist to provide all the answers, but to help you build the awareness, skills, and confidence needed to arrive at the answers best suited for you.

What if I don't like my therapist?

It's completely okay if you don't feel comfortable with your therapist, discussing what isn't working can be an important part of the process. Your feedback is always welcome, and your therapist will do their best to adapt their approach.

If, after discussing your concerns, you still feel the relationship isn't right for you, we will gladly help you find another therapist who may be a better match.

Will everything I say remain confidential?

Yes. Confidentiality is a fundamental part of therapy. What you share is kept private and treated with the utmost respect, so you can speak openly without fear of judgment.

There are a few rare exceptions, such as a serious and immediate risk of harm to yourself or someone else, or when disclosure is required by law. If such a situation arises, your therapist will discuss it with you whenever possible.

Can a minor meet a therapist independently?

In most cases, a minor requires the consent and involvement of a parent, legal guardian, or responsible family member to begin therapy. The therapist may spend part of a session speaking with the minor individually, typically with the guardian's knowledge and consent.

Confidentiality, parental involvement, and any legal requirements are discussed at the beginning of the process so everyone understands what to expect.

Do you prescribe medication?

No. We provide psychotherapy and psychological support, but we do not prescribe medication. Medication can only be prescribed by a psychiatrist or another qualified medical doctor.

If medication may be beneficial as part of your care, we can help you explore that option and, where appropriate, refer you to a trusted psychiatrist for an evaluation.

Can I stop taking my medication if I start therapy?

No. You should not stop, reduce, or change your medication without consulting the medical professional who prescribed it. Therapy and medication can work together effectively, and when appropriate, we are happy to collaborate with your treating doctor.

Do you offer online therapy sessions?

Yes, we currently offer online therapy sessions, flexible access from the comfort and privacy of your own space, with video sessions that still allow your therapist to observe important non-verbal cues.

All you need is a stable internet connection and a private, comfortable space where you can speak openly and without interruptions.

Why do I have to pay my fees upfront for a booking?

Payment is collected in advance to reserve your appointment time and ensure your therapist can dedicate that time exclusively to you, helping us manage scheduling and give you a focused, uninterrupted session.

What is your cancellation and rescheduling policy?

Sessions cancelled or rescheduled with at least 24 hours' notice can generally be moved to another available time. Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice, and missed appointments, may be charged in full, as that time was specifically reserved for you.

If an emergency or exceptional circumstance arises, please reach out. We'll always do our best to respond with understanding and fairness.

How do I schedule a therapy session?

Reach out to us via WhatsApp, and our team will share information about our therapists, their areas of expertise, therapeutic approaches, and other details, so you can choose who feels like the best fit.

If you're unsure which therapist to choose, we're happy to help match you based on the concerns you'd like to work on and your therapy goals.
